History

The News Department on Habbox is traditionally viewed as one of the oldest and most prestigious Habbox Departments. Dating back to May 2005, when it was launched by Seacat, it has been often dubbed as one of the most reliable news sources around for Habbo news, with people checking daily on various news updates from the Habbo and outside world internationally.
 
Over the years, the Habbox News Department has won numerous awards for 'Best News Fansite' for many years running, including the latest one in 2009. People all over the UK hotel used to check news in the older days due to the fact that Habbo itself didn't post many of the updates and News Reporters had to go around the hotel researching all the latest features as well as testing them.

Throughout the years Habbox News changed a lot, with an improving quality and quantity of reports being produced under the management of Samanfa. There have also been a lot of groundbreaking features tested, such as a daily news wrap show on HabboxLive, entitled 'News @ Live', the brief transformation of written News Reports in news videos, and the dramatic change in the news structure from that of a simple report to the article more personalised structure under the management of Samanfa. The news team started to report on unrealesed furniture when Arfar was the News Manager.

At this current moment, the news department has been going from strength to strength with the news team gradually expanding in terms of both quantity and quality. Under the management of  Grig & Bolt660, news had seen a dramatic transformation from one of the smallest departments on Habbox to one of the most respected. The article format has also changed to incorporate a more laid back approach with some humour and opinions. Also, Habbox News is unique for doing exclusive reports of features that Habbo had yet to report or some exclusive insights, room Room Reviews and Interviews - taking on a small aspect of the former articles department.
