In the past Habbo Hotel has teamed up with numerous companies over the years, some that operate worldwide, some that are a bit closer to home in the UK. Habbo get together with these companies to both promote Habbo within the other company, and the other company in Habbo. For example, when Habbo partnered with 'Sugar Magazine', Habbo ran a quest to promote that magazine to the users in the hotel, whilst the magazine published Habbo adverts in order to bring more people into the community. Below is a list showing who Habbo have partnered with and a brief explanation of what happened during that partnership. The list is shown in reverse order, starting with the latest sponsor. Camp Rock - September 2008 When the new film, camp rock, came out, Habbo decided to launch a new competition to enter. Habbos has to form a group of 5 members, nominate the 1 leading member, come up with a band name, produce some rock songs and create an A4 poster. The members of the top 10 groups would all receive an exclusive camp rock badge and a camp rock guitar poster furni item each. As well as all this, randomly allocated 50 Credit bonuses would be given out! Hair Spray - August 2008 You can't stop the beat as Sky1 takes to the stage for a brand new all-singing, all-dancing family entertainment spectacular. Hairspray: The School Musical takes one unsuspecting London high school & gives them the challenge of a lifetime: To audition, rehearse and perform a West End worthy performance of 'Hairspray' in one summer holiday. Habbo created a new talent competition to celebrate the released of the new film. Angus, Thongs and a Perfect Snogging - July 2008 To celebrate the release of the new movie, Habbo got in on the action and launched a competition to go along with the promotion. Habbos were invited to show off their flirting skills in a series of Dating Games in order to reach the top of the leaderboard! The top 5 Habbos would win 100 credits, a soundtrack CD, a poster and a shirt! The film hit the cinemas on July 25th! Swapitshop - June 2008 During this deal there were a number of special furniture packs put up for sale on the swapitshop website, which you could purchase with swapit points. There was also a competition running in which you could win some rather large amounts of points, 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 to be precise. Every one who answered the question correctly were also given 100 swapits as part of the deal. On swapitshop you sell your unwanted items for swapit points, which you can then buy other items which will be more use for you. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games - February 2008 This deal was to promote the new Mario and Sonic game for the Nintendo DS. The Habbo end of this partnership was really quite simple. All you had to do to be in with the chance of winning a Nintendo DS and the brand new game for it was answer a poll which appeared in the Public Room dedicated to the promotion.
St. Trinians - December 2007 This was one of the largest deals Habbo has signed. This was to promote the new film for St. Trinians, and included the release of the Public Room 'St Trinians Gym'. In this event there 6 houses, represented by 6 different colours. For each house there was a group page created in which the houses had to get the most members in their group. The winning house was the one to have the most members at the end of the campaign, a Headboy and Headgirl was then chosen from this group. There were also 10 prefects chosen from each house. The prefects, headboy and Headgirl all received a special badge, though these arrived slightly late... Fantastic 4: The Silver Surfer - October 2007 As an addition to the recent 'boom' in the room designing competitions, yet another one was added with this deal. One lucky winner who designed the best Space Station would receive a Nintendo Wii and 500 credits for their hard efforts!
The Dark is Rising - October 2007 Yet another room designing competition can along with the Dark is Rising film promotion. Not only was there the Dark is Rising Palace, Habbos were asked to design an 'out of this world' room, using anything they could get their hands on. From all the hard work you had to load onto your brain, you wouldn't have gone unrewarded, one lucky Habbo walked away with a trip for four to Iceland! Mirrorscape - October 2007 As you may be thinking from the title of this sponsor, rather surreal isn't it. Well, in this deal Habbo signed you were asked to create a 'surreal scene' room in order to spread the word of Mike Wilks' new novel 'Mirrorscape'.
Jamie Johnson: The Kick Off - August 2007 Yes yes, not very often is there sporting sponsors, this time round there is! To promote Dan Freedman's newest book 'Jamie Johnson: The Kick Off' and to be in with the chance of winning one of twelve signed copies of the book you didn't really have to do much. You simply had to take a short quiz in which you would be automatically entered into the draw to win one of the twelve books! Now 67 - July 2007 I'm sure most people have heard of the 'Now' CDs, well now you've heard of them in Habbo too! To promote the latest compilation CD in the series Habbo teamed up with the company to give 20 lucky winners a copy of the CD and a Music DVD! All you had to do was follow a trail of clues in the form of a quest, starting at the new Public Room, The Sunset Cafe.
RU Thinking - May 2007 Are you thinking? Is your brain switched on? Good. In order to ensure Habbos were staying safe both on the internet and in real life they partnered up with RU Thinking. When this organisation landed in Habbo they offered us all advice, whether it be about relationships or feeling unsafe with someone you are talking to. Connexions - March 2007 Many of the older Habbos are bound to have heard of Connexions, an organisation which specializes in giving teenagers advice on their education and careers future. During their visit they offered help to hundreds of Habbos on these topics, be it on their website or by staff entering the hotel.
NSPCC & Childline - February 2007 As a first, two organisations have come together in their partnership with Habbo, mainly because they support the same things. When these two organisations came Habbo opened their arms wide as it is very common for internet bullying and abuse. To encourage people to contact the NSPCC or Childline if they needed help on either of these topics they released a new Public Room; the Zen Garden. There was also a number of competitions released, one in which you had to design a room to go along with an anti-bullying campaign, a second competition involved you having to write a play, and perform several scenes of it. During these competitions you were able to get your hands on a special badge, some Habbo Homepage stickers were also given as prizes. Rare Communications - November 2006
This partnership is a rather strange one... Rare Communications is a professional web design company that have clients including Channel 4! What they wanted you to do was design a new layout for their website that was 'teen friendly'. This mammoth of a task came with a mammoth prize, you would get the opportunity for dinner with Lost_Witness and UKChaserAl (fully paid for) and a brand new PC! Sugar Magazine - November 2006 Another unusual deal was signed here, with a magazine! All you had to do to be in with a chance of winning 1 years subscription to Habbo Club and 1 years subscription to Sugar, was venture through numerous rooms to find the answer to a simple question - not too hard really, especially when you compare it with what you can win. Popworld Promotes - October 2006
What is it with all these weird partnerships?! This time Habbo was approached by Popworld Promotes, a child of Channel 4's music show 'Popworld'. The deal was looking for Habbos to help them choose a new band to launch into the world of music. The winner of the show, voted by the general public and Habbo community, would have the chance to record their very first music video inside Habbo! All of this would happen in the new Public Room, the TV Studio, and would involve normal, everyday Habbos who had been given a strict routine to follow. The winners of this campaign was Area 15. Lego Star Wars II - September 2006 Yet another simple partnership, this new game produced under the Lego Trademark gave you the opportunity to get your hands on the game for either PC or Xbox 360. All you had to do to win one of these copies of the game was answer a simple question, relating the game. TV Hits! - August 2006 The first magazine partnership to come to Habbo was this one. We don't have too much information on what happened but it is known there was a giveaway in which both real life and Habbo gifts were handed out. CD Wow! - August 2006 All music lovers were great fans of this sponsor, who specialize in selling audio products online, hence the CD in the name. If Habbos were interested in this site, they were guided to a page which contained a unique code to enter when purchasing their items, this code entitled them to 20% off! NSPCC - May 2006 This was the first time the NSPCC came to Habbo. They ran a campaign within the hotel called 'Don't Hide it', which people were encouraged to be themselves rather than hide any little secrets they had. Habbos were offered the chance to speak to an advisor in a Public Room.
Hotxt - May 2006 Habbo seem to have broken their own Terms & Conditions, by encouraging users to share their personal details. Hotxt is a service which allows you to send free text messages to other people who use Hotxt, or send a text message for a discounted price if they are not a member. It is unknown what you had to do, but in this deal you were able to win a Motorola L6 Mobile Phone and 1 years subscription Hotxt! Dubble - May 06 You may know about Fairtrade, the system that allows farmers of cocoa and coffee beans in Africa to get more money for their produce, the money they deserve for their hard work. Dubble is a product that uses Fairtrade chocolate in the manufacturing of the chocolate bar. To promote Fairtrade and Dubble Bars, Habbo set it so you could ask a bot in a Public Room Cafe for a Dubble bar and you would be given one!
Spreadshirt - April 2006 Ever wanted your very own Habbo T-shirt, and get some free furni? This was your chance. You were able to order a T-shirt, available in a selection of colours with different images on them. Some had ducks on, some had skulls and some were printed with bobba! If you were to order one of these shirts within a certain period of time you would be sent a code to obtain your free Chinese Laquer Sofa and Red Knot - unavailable at that time. Philip Reeve - March 2006 Philip came to Habbo to promote his latest book, which we unsure as to which one but it is believed it was 'A Darkling Plain'. To go with this partnership Habbo released the Space Cafe, with a new bot - Nimrod Pennyroyal, a character from the book.
My Scene - November 2005 When the latest craze in My Scene dolls occurred, Habbo took on a sponsorship with them. What happened in this deal was Habbo asked us to design some new clothes for in the hotel, with the possibilty of them being put onto the hotel. The winning designs would receive a selection of My Scene goodies! Always - June 2005 This was one of the largest and longest running partnerships Habbo has taken part in. What you had to do to be part of this campaign was get voted by the Habbo Public by working in a Habbo Salon. The Habbo Staff would then take the top 10 salon workers who then went on into stage 2. Every few days there would be a mini-task which the staff had to take part in for a stronger chance of staying in the 'game', there would also be nominations which the Habbo Public voted which salon worker would be evicted, this process went on until there was only one person left, they would obviously be the winner. That lucky person walked away with the entire salon, which was full of super rares, rares, trophies and norms. Eyetoy Antigrav - April 2005 You certainly can flap your arms around like an idiot when there is no gravity, but that effect can also be created whilst playing an Eyetoy game. To promote the newest Eyetoy product Habbo ran numerous games and competitions, the key one being a quest in which Compound (one of the game's characters) went missing, another source of trying to win some furniture, or even a copy of the game was to get a picture of your Habbo and one of the VIP characters from the game. Shark Tale - February 2005 Yes yes, that legendary film based in the sea, we've all seen it. To promote the DVD when it was just released Habbo teamed up with Shark Tale. The main event in the campaign was 'The Cod-father'. In this you were asked to form a mafia and each team would then take part in a kickwar against another group, until there was a champion mafia crowned. There were also other events such as Poison Floors and Fridge Races. Also within this partnership was London Scuba, a company which specializes in Scuba Diving, one lucky Habbo won themselves a trip with them! BT Broadband - July 2003 One of Habbo's earliest sponsors was BT, the leading telephone company in the UK. You didn't have to do much in this promotion, just switch your internet provider to BT! If you did this you would receive 1 years subscription to Habbo Club. You had to purchase this BT deal on a special page, else you wouldn't receive your free Habbo Club!
Sunny Delight - ?? 2002 As part of a campaign to promote many new flavours of the popular drink, Sunny D and Habbo held a poll on habbohotel.com (which was the UK hotel back then), asking which flavour was your favourite. Sunny D were also running TV adverts at the time, asking people to go to habbohotel.com and vote! A public room was also released around this time called the Sunny Delight Pool - the Habbo Lido's Pool which had a few things added. We have been as accurate as possible in finding the History of Habbo Sponsors and what happened during them. However, we are unable to make sure they are 100% correct as we are limited to what information we can get our hands on.
