The 39 year old and her husband Chris Hughes are said to be devastated at the loss, only announcing the pregnancy to the public last month, six months gone. However the couple became concerned when the baby stopped moving, and Amanda took to hospital in Isleworth, where the stillborn foetus was delivered later on, an experience which must be unimaginably heartbreaking for anybody.
Due to her miscarriage a year ago, the pregnancy had been heavily monitored by doctors to check everything was going smoothly. This tragic incident was very sudden, and the doctors are now working hard to determine the cause. In an interview with News of the World last month, Amanda talked openly about her first miscarriage, saying: “It was a tragedy and it was an awful, awful time and it’s made me realise your body is fallible and life simply isn’t perfect.“
The pair, who already have a five year old daughter named Lexi, are understandably “absolutely devastated“, however they thanked “the midwives and staff at The Queen Mary Maternity unit at West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth for their tremendous support“.
Another star who could relate to Amanda’s loss would be pop star Lily Allen, who also tragically suffered her second miscarriage late last year.
Losing a baby is a horrible thing to go through for any mother, but to have to give birth to a stillborn foetus would be absolutely soul destroying and I really wish Amanda and Chris all the best through this tough time.
