It would seem that Miley Cyrus, or Hannah Montana, the former Disney golden girl isn’t haven’t such a great time of it lately.

In a resent poll 13% of Americans have voted they wanted to hear and see less of the teenage pop star come actress in 2011. This has come on the back on the bong scandal, which hasn’t seemed to have affected Miley very much as one of her friends was quoted saying “she doesn’t care she has just got on with filming her new film and is moving on with her life.” The aforementioned bong scandal was when a video of Miley smoking from a bong was released. 

Her latest album was less than a success with her single “can’t be tamed” giving her a slag tag with much of the teen age audience which once admired her in Disney’s Hannah Montana the series and the movie. Since she has left them her reputation has gone down as she tired to break free from the image of the “innocent disney girl” but has she gone too far in the opposite direction? 

When you’re a role model to so many young girls, and boys, across the globe you can’t be seen doing “normal teenage things” (in the loosest sence of the phrase) like smoking from a bong. You have to step up and take the responsibility and her rescnt decline in popularity is a reflection on that.
