BRIT Awards 2011 Nominations Announced0
The nominations for the 2011 Brit Awards next month have been announced, with London rapper Tinie Tempah gaining the most nominations, with four nods.

The ceremony is facing a make over this year, with new trophies designed by famous fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood, that were unveiled earlier today (picture on the right), and a new venue, with the ceremony to take place at The O2 Arena in London, as opposed to Earls Court Exhibition Centre, where it has been held in previous years.
With last years awards dominated by pop superstar Lady Gaga who took home 3 awards, the most of the evening, it looks as though the dominating prescence at the BRITs this year will be rapper Tinie Tempah. He has been nominated for British Male Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, Best Single and Album of the Year. This caps off a great 2010 for Tinie, after his debut album Disc-overy went to number one, and two of his singles, Frisky and Pass Out, both hit number one in the singles chart.
Plan B and Mumford and Sons both received critical praise for their albums in 2010, and this has been recognised by the Brits, who have given them three nominations each, including the prestigious Album of the Year, alongside Take That, The XX and the aforementioned Tinie Tempah.
The Best Single category is largely X Factor dominated, with singles from winner Matt Cardle (When We Collide), judge Cheryl Cole (Parachute) and past contestants Alexandra Burke (All Night Long) and Olly Murs (Please Don’t Let Me Go) all making the cut. Also up are Florence & The Machine (You’ve Got The Love), Plan B (She Said), Scouting For Girls (This Ain’t A Love Song), Taio Cruz (Dynamite), Tinie Tempah (Pass Out), and The Wanted (All Time Low).
Another fierce battle is set to go down in the Best International Female category, with the front runners Rihanna and Katy Perry, both of whom have had brilliant years with their albums Loud and Teenage Dream (respectively) both doing fantastically all around the world. They are joined in the category that was won last year by Gaga, by Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, and Swedish singer Robyn.
