Casinos are facing chaos in the hotel right now!

Panic has spread throughout many users who simply love spending their time (and gambling their credits) in Habbo casinos. The panic has occurred due to an apparent rumour that are moderators starting to ban casino owners and change their room names to “Inappropriate to hotel management”... a reaction which many users are claiming is “unfair”.

 

As of this moment, the 5 casino owners that have been banned so far are:

 

– FieryCold

– ShinyyRayz

– Tamanoir

– Naughty

– Caroleen

 

As you can imagine, casino players have been moving across casinos rapidly and will continue to do so until they have been forced out of them completely.. Some people are calling this move unfair due to there being no ban on gambling (on English sites – excluding www.habbo.sg) for over 11 years and many users gain their main source of credits from betting in casinos or gambling in grabbers… was this a poor move for Sulake? Some of the comments which are against the action Sulake are taking include;

 

“Casinos have been around almost since the beginning of Habbo. Are they slowly trying to force everyone out?”

“Wow. This is ridiculous! Although I hate betting and it annoys me when I see my friends lose all their furni because they are so reckless… but seriously! This is what loads of people do on habbo and taking away these will clause many people to quit. Also how can they justify banning people for this? It was never against the rules!

 

However, some people are in massive support of the removal of gambling due to the fact that it could be promoting children as young as 12 to gamble in the future. Some even think it is a good move because it’ll mean that Sulake will gain more money due to people being forced to buy credits or trade items – with gambling off the menu, users will have to choose credits or trading and sometimes trading can be quite tedious. So it looks like Sulake could expect some more profit from a rise in purchase of credits. Some comments supporting this action were;

 

“I actually agree with them sorting this out to be honest. I know it is a massive part of Habbo now but it’s really stupid gambling. I’m sure there will be some massive issue with it now though.”

“Good move, people gamble and don’t understand what they’re doing cause they’re like 12.”

 

There is no explanation as to why gambling is being restricted in Habbo, the only piece of information we have to go on is a tweet that Paul LaFontaine sent 8 hours ago:

 

“We don’t condone gambling and we observe local law wrt how gambling is defined, which is quite strict on the topic. Thanks”

 

More information is expected to be revealed later. Please remember that Paul LaFontaine himself is unaware of the issue right now, so please keep an open mind!

 

Update: Paul LaFontaine has claimed that the information about all casinos being removed is not “factually correct” – so what is actually happening to these casinos at the moment? He also said that he is “checking on what is going on”!

Update 2: Paul announced placed a Tweet which stated “.com Habbos we got a wire crossed and some user rooms were closed by accident. I am personally on it now reviewing and we will restore.”

Update 3: Paul announced the reason behind the mistake – “new mods started today and made a mistake. That’s the limit of the problem. thx”
