Concert Review – Florence + the Machine1

One of my favourite things to do in my spare time (apart from Habbox of course) is seeing different bands live in concert. When I say ‘different bands’ I mean any band or artist… ever. If I like them or not, I would never pass on a chance to see a live concert. This article is going to be a sort of review/recap on the recent concert I went to see.

Since 2012 and the release of Ceremonials, I have been dying to see Florence and the Machine live. When I first listened to their first album Lungs, I knew that they would quickly become one of my favourite bands. Sadly I was unable to see them in their Ceremonials tour as I started university the same year. Luckily, with the release of How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, came a tour! I was lucky enough to get tickets in the pre-sale and I can tell you now, the 3-year wait was totally worth it! As soon as I walked into the Genting Arena (previously LG arena), the atmosphere was incredible and it really surprised me how many people of many different ages came together to watch and listen to such a different artist.

The show was amazing. They played both new and old music and both the band and small on-stage choir were fabulous. I hadn’t actually heard the album before the tour as it’s something my uncle always recommends doing. It’s really interesting to hear the music live before you actually hear it elsewhere. I can say I’m a massive fan of the album and I’ve been listening to it non-stop since going to that concert. Florence Welch wore this interesting white number whilst proving she can sing amazing live. The crowd was really loud and active then at one point, everyone started to throw their clothes on stage.

Overall, it was one hell of a concert and I’m so happy that I was able to go. I haven’t got many concerts lined up for next year, only Little Mix (random, I know!) but who knows who else I’ll end up seeing. I’m one for spontaneous ticket buying.

To start a bit of a discussion, tell me below who you’re going to see in concert next or who you would love to see!
