Singer of British electro-pop duo La Roux, Elly Jackson, has revealed that rap legend Dr. Dre have approached the pair about using a sample of one of their tracks for a new song.
Jackson told BBC’s Newsbeat that the producer/rapper will be using a sample of their huge UK hit single ‘In For The Kill’, for a track on his highly anticipated release that is supposedly his last ever, ‘Detox‘.
“Apparently he and The Game, this is a really hilarious image for me, were sitting watching Entourage together,” Jackson said, explaining the situation.
“He got really excited about the track which is obviously really complimentary. He did something with it and then sent it to us and said can he use it for his record and we said, ‘Yes.’“
A lot of a details are still unconfirmed, such as the title of the song, but a hint was given at La Roux’s participation in the track. “[He’s used] Mainly the vocal and then he put his own beats on it. It’s supposed to be on the next record.”
Sounds interesting – can’t wait to see what Dre comes up with!
