Famous actress, Elizabeth Taylor dies at the age of 79
Dame Elizabeth Taylor has died aged 79, it was announced today (March 23rd). The screen legend is thought to have been at her home in Los Angeles when she passed away. Although no cause of death has been given out yet, Ms Taylor had a long history of ill health and had recentley been treated for heart failure.
Elizabeth Taylor was one of Hollywoods besed loved stars, appearing in classic films such as ‘Cleopatra’, ‘Who’s afraid of Virginia wolf’ and ‘Cat on a hot tin roof’. She is also well known for her private life, having married seven times, twice to actor Richard Burton. She first married him in 1975. She was also married to Conrad Hilton, Michael Wilding, Michael Todd, Eddie Fisher, John Warner and Larry Fortensky.
Ms Taylor overcome addictions to both painkillers and alcohol. She survived a rare deadly strain of pneumonia in 1961 and almost died in 1991 after another bout of pneumonia. In 1997 she survived a benign brain tumour.
Elizabeth Taylor was an avid campaigner for the aids charity, which she started in 1991 after the death of her fellow actor Rock Hudson.
