Following on from her huge selling, multi-award winning and global smash of a debut album ‘Lungs‘, Florence + The Machine returns with brand new music and tells us the release date of her soon to be great, forthcoming second album. The unnamed album was produced in full by Paul Epworth to retain one complete sound. It all amazingly came together over five weeks in the famous Studio 3 of Abbey Road where the very famous Beatles recorded their big hit ‘Revolver‘ and Pink Floyd‘s hit, ‘Dark Side Of The Moon‘, after which Florence and Paul decamped to his own London studio to add the finishing touches.
Some of the song names have not been chosen at random, Florence + The Machine has been inspired by many things for the album coming out in November, she quoted, ‘t’s a song for the water…’ says Florence; ‘Because in music and art what I’m really interested in are the things that are overwhelming. The ocean seems to me to be nature’s great overwhelmer. When I was writing this song I was thinking a lot about all those people who’ve lost their lives in vain attempts to save their loved ones from drowning. It’s about water in all forms and all bodies. It’s about a lot of things; Virginia Woolf creeps into it, and of course Frieda Kahlo, whose painfully beautiful painting gave me the title.’
