It has been reported that Take That star Gary Barlow has signed a deal which will see him join the X Factor (UK) Judging Panel from the next series replacing Simon Cowell.
Before today’s announcement Barlow had been allegedly in advanced talks with the producers behind the hit ITV show. The Take That star, will be replacing Simon Cowell who confirmed that the will not be judging the first stages of the competition following his decision to take a step back and launch the US version of the talent show with Cheryl Cole.
In other news, Louis Walsh has been confirmed as a judge for the seventh time and Danni Minogue has been offered a contract to return to the show but is yet to sign it as of yet. Speculation however continues to be a hot topic, with the latest stating that Kelly Rowland has been offered Cole’s role. However Alesha Dixon and Lilly Allen are very much still tipped for the role.
Speaking for the show’s producers a spokesperson told tabloid The Sun “Louis has been told he’s back – and Gary is now a definite.
“Gary knows the business inside and out. If anyone could replace Simon, it’s him.”
