Hundreds of thousands of protestors have took to the streets for plans to allow gay marriage and the right for them to adopt children. The three events took place at the ‘Champs de Mars’ , a large park near the Eiffel Tower. France’s socialist government are planning to change the law this year. The protestors were piling out of buses and trains with signs saying “We don’t want your law, Francois” and “Don’t touch my civil code“. Four topless woman staged protests in St Peter’s square. A poll released by ‘Le nouvel obvservateur’ suggested that 56% supported gay rights and gay marriage while 50% disapproved of gay adoption. The poll also stated that 52% questioned disapproved of the Church’s stand against the legislation.
Here are some opinions I have read:
“I support gay marriage all the way but I disapprove of gay adoption. A child should be brought up by a man and a woman like they are supposed to be.”
“A man and a woman are meant to marry and reproduce, that is just science and gay marriage is wrong.”
