As Earth Hour approaches, Habbo have released details on how you can get your hands on a special Earth Hour badge by showing your support.

Earth Hour is the biggest organisation against global warming. Since 2007 they have asked that once a year, we switch off all the lights in our homes for 1 hour. This year Earth Hour will take place on Saturday 26th March at 8.30pm. So just like last year, Habbo are getting involved and making a change. You can  help make a change by switching your lights off in your house on Saturday. You might even want to go the extra mile and keep them off for 2 hours, or perhaps switch something else off, like your televisions and computers. If you head over to the Official Earth Hour Group on Habbo, you can sign up for Earth Hour there, and join in with making a change. But don’t just assume Earth Hour only happens in the UK, over the years it has received support from countries all over the world, and in 2010 128 countries joined in and turned off their lights. This year we can make that number even bigger, so get your friends together, and get ready to party in the dark!

You can show your support right away by heading over to the Web Store and picking up the 2 free sets of stickers to display on your Habbo Homepage. In the Hotel, you can buy yourself a ‘Candle Pixel Effect’ for one credit and keep it displayed for a full week. The new section, ‘Earth Hour’ has been temporarily added to the catalog, here you’ll find trees, natural methods for light (candles, campfires and torches) and the moodlights, which have been reduced in price.

If you’ve got an account on Facebook you can show your support further by joining Habbos ‘Earth Hour Event’. You and 10 other friends may also be in with the chance to receive Earth Hour Candle Badges. All you have to do is get some friends together, in real life or on Habbo, and take a photo or screenshot of you all showing your support. You can use the pixel effects candle or torch on Habbo, or if you’re doing it in real life, just get a picture of you and your friends with some candles. Remember to turn your lights off though. When you’ve got your picture, insert the Habbo names of you and your other friends at the bottom. Then simply post the picture to Habbos ‘Earth Hour Event’ wall. When you’ve done that head back to Habbo and fill in the poll. Your badges will be given to you on Monday 28th March, which is also the deadline for submission.

Remember to switch your lights off for 1 hour at 8.30pm this Saturday!
