Habbo: A Billion Dollar Business?0
By - Posted 4th July, 2015 at 9:35 pm

The title of this article is posed as a question because no one is actually sure whether the recent release of net worth is corresponding to what the actual figures are. According to the site warc.com, which has recently reported the figures on major social networking and virtual reality gaming sites such as Habbo, the game itself is set to be valued at a whopping US$3 billion.

Yes, by this point, many of you may be sitting there absolutely flabbergasted at such a large figure. Many did not expect Habbo to get anywhere near as much, seeing as they were thought to be going down in value as it is, with those skeptics assuming that Habbo’s actual net worth is somewhere within the millions. This is particularly significant when Jagex’s Runescape was said to be trailing behind such a figure, yet that it is visibly a much more populous game.

However, to argue in Sulake’s favor, the company did make some profit over the past couple of months with a newer business strategy upon the appointment of new CEO Paul Lafontaine.  Furthermore, unlike games such as Runescape, Habbo can get so much more revenue simply by selling credits, which many adore and buy by the bulk. Tell us what you think, do you really believe the latest report and if so, do you think Habbo should expand further- click ‘read more’ to let us know!
