Another disaster once again destroys the little country of Haiti
Seven days of heavy rain and flooding have left at least twenty three people dead and many more missing in Haiti. Capital Port au Prince has suffered the most loss of life as the torrential rainfall flooded the streets, swept away homes and toppled trees.
Things have been made worse because tens of thousands of people who lost everything in the 2010 earthquake, are still living in tents and temporary accommodations. It is now feared that the country’s cholera outbreak could get worse. It has killed five thousand three hundred people since October.
In a hillside city south of Port au Prince, Petionville, people have also been killed. A concrete house crashed into several smaller houses when it slid down a ravine. One man, who’s sister and niece died in the house said that so much rain caused the house to shake and slip.
