The volcano in Japan is still angry and still wants to be heard!
A blast from an erupting volcano shot ash and rocks 2000 metres up into their and shattered windows many miles away. The danger zone around Mount Shinmoedake has had to be widened from a 2 kilometre radius to a 3 kilometre radius. This was the first time in 52 years that the volcano has erupted. It was noticed that this was the first time for the volcano to spew magma in 189 years since 1822.
The dome of lava inside the crater of the volcano has grown five times larger than it had been on Friday as pressure increased from below. Experts have said, even though the dome has grew a lot since Friday, it won’t overflow.
A 92 year old woman suffered hand and facial injuries when she was hit by flying glass shards from broken hospital windows and officials said that nearly two hundred schools and public halls had their windows smashed. In the town of Takaharu, more than six hundred people have been forced to evacuate and take refuge in community centres and school halls.
I am so glad I don’t live anywhere near a volcano because I wouldn’t be able to leave anything behind.
