Are you unemployed? Do you have no money? Well, first of all; you are on the verge of being a hobo and second of all…well I haven’t thought of a second aspect yet. However, Sulake have! They have opened a large array of jobs – big ones, small ones, tiny ones, fat ones and so on. Although they are actually song lyrics, you get the point.
Although the action of job openings is a common occurrence, it’s become much rarer for Sulake over the years due to the perverse practice of dismissing staff on par with cost-cutting measures introduced by hot-headed Sulake CEO, Paul LaFontaine.
To get to the nitty-gritty, currently there are three important jobs being advertised on the Sulake website. They include, Creative and Communication Campaign (CCC) Manager, Marketing and Partnerships Director, and Production Artist/Designer for those with the creative and skilled eye. The first job mentioned, the CCC Manager is one for the 21st century. This job involves quite a fluent knowledge of all social media tools in order to promote and design some of Habbo’s campaigns. Thus, if you’ve seen some of the campaigns wane recently, there might be a resurgence in the near future. The latest job opening, the Marketing and Partnerships Director will be someone responsible for advertising the Habbo brand beyond the game. This is a crucial element after the sudden marketing catastrophe inflicted upon Habbo by the negative exposure from a Channel 4 news report. The job basically allows one to create viral marketing campaigns and give market analysis to the company. The person who will acquire this job will most likely be under pressure from the Head Honcho, LaFontaine to increase the diminishing user base within the game. These two described jobs require some experience– ranging from 2 to 5 years. Furthermore, a degree in Marketing and Advertising is preferred. You also need to be proficient in social media networks such as Twitter. The final job requires knowledge of graphics and pixels. To cut to the chase, as they say in the business, this job simply requires you to design new graphics for the game and develop pixels art etc. It’s a job that requires an Arts degree, and 2 years’ experience. For this job you will also be based in the land ruled by HRH, Queen Eizabeth II- London, UK.
These jobs aren’t for any avid Habbo fan, for (as echoed throughout the article) you need experience in order to get selected into the Sulake family. Looks like I won’t be getting many jobs, as I don’t do marketing and can only draw stick figures to perfection. Generally, people are interested to see what these new jobs will bring to Habbo and how they’ll affect them. However, some even want to apply themselves, Laura for example is already writing her application and bribing people, so you better hurry before she occupies all the posts!
