Singer and pop icon Lady Gaga has revealed via Twitter upcoming details on her upcoming second studio album entitled ‘Born This Way‘.

In a much hyped announcement made at midnight on New Years Eve, the star from New York announced the release date of the album, and the date of the première of the first single, along with a brand new photo, shot by artist Nick Knight.

The song will make its debut on February 13th 2011, which is the same night as the 53rd Grammy Awards, leading to speculation that Gaga will perform the song at the ceremony, an event which will definitely be exciting for fans. The album is also now scheduled for a release date of May 23rd 2011, which leaves quite a large gap between the lead single and album, time which will mostly be taken up by Gaga rounding up her huge Monster Ball Tour in North America.

Also on her midnight announcement, Gaga released an photo of her taken by Nick Knight, who she has previously worked with on videos for her Monster Ball tour. The image shows Gaga from behind, wearing nothing but a jacket with the words ‘Born This Way‘, and a picture of a unicorn. You can see the picture on the right. Gaga has suffered a slight backlash from a few of her fans, who are complaining that they have been waiting too long for the album, and that May is too long to wait. Click read more for my opinion on this!

Personally, I think people should give her a break! This woman is constantly working, and she’s going to come straight off tour to promoting the album, and I for one cannot wait for ‘Born This Way’.
