As Habbox is an official Fansite for Habbo.com you could obviously see that when some people were extremely annoyed when issued with a permanent ban for advertising Habbox! This is simply not on, it showed a lack of care and consideration for Fansites as opposed to 18 months ago when the merge was only just occurring. This caused uproar in HabboxForum with the amount that were actually banned for this! A senior news reporter was banned for advertising an official Habbox competition, a Senior DJ was also in the same situation and was nearly resigning from the site as I said, it’s just not on. Furthermore, people who were actually advertising scam sites were getting absolutely nothing done about them (and still aren’t) do not give us an option to report it if you can’t do anything about it. Same with blocking, how are we meant to remove a Habbo when it’s your room? Were you one of those unfortunate people who received a ban advertising a Fansite? What are your opinions on this and is it fair?

There then seemed a breakthrough, now, people didn’t receive bans for advertising Fansites instead it grew into something much worse with people being banned for using the help tool, just generally chatting to their friends and sometimes not doing anything at all! My friend got his account permanently banned for accessing another persons account when in fact he only accessed his own, if you don’t want people having more than one account Habbo do not make an option to do so; he is still banned. At least we did not get banned for advertising Habbox which in theory is an improvement on the moderators side. Well done moderators!

I finally found another improvement on the moderators behalf the other day! A moderation message telling me they do not ban for advertising Fansites! What a breakthrough, I was rather shocked seeing it and I want to know your views. The message said something along the line of ‘We do not ban for advertising official Fansites, please check www.habbo.com/groups/fansites to see who are official.’

Now, this is a big step for moderation and I feel if they got rid of the blocking and scamming ways to report someone they could improve more! If they also unbanned people who weren’t needed to be banned then that would also improve them too. How would you improve moderation I’d love to know as your views will probably be different to mine?
