More tremors have shaken the city of Christchurch in New Zealand.
Strong quakes, including a 6.0 magnitude tremor rocked Christchurch in New Zealand on Monday. One building collapsed and people were again in fear. Power was cut to about six thousand homes after the quakes during which ten people were injured by falling debris but no one was killed. The biggest quake was measured at a magnitude of 6.0 by New Zealand authorities and the U.S. Geological survey and the epicentre was said to be nine kilometers deep and within fourteen kilometers of Christchurch, which is New Zealands second largest city.
The city is still recovering from the 6.3 magnitude quake that hit in February which killed one hundred and eighty one people. A string of earlier tremors was followed by a major aftershock.
It was confirmed by police that a building had fallen in central Christchurch, much of which is still blocking the road after the major earthquake earlier this year. New Zealands south island has had a lot of seismic activity in the last few months.
