I remember a couple of years ago, Habbo announced that we would get a gift in the catalogue, I waited until midnight with my sister to see what it was and it turned out to be Pigs. Those were the days they announced surprises that were going to come to the hotel and although they still do that now with Limited Edition Rares and such this recent change wasn’t known until Habbox Forum members looked in the catalogue.

It was found out today that all pets now cost 10 Credits, this could be due to Habbo believing the world will end tomorrow or failing that it could just be another Christmas treat for the users; I’m not complaining as expensive pets such as Dragons and Turtles have also been reduced. Additionally, Terriers have also reappeared in the catalogue, again expanding to the dog range!

Due to this recent reduction we can probably see that pet sales will increase and ultimately gain Sulake more money, which is a main goal in a business usually. This could also suggest that pet food, accessories and other additional pet items will be sold more. It’s unknown how long the deal will last, whether it’s permanent or temporary we couldn’t say but, I hope that it returns to normality after the festivities as if not, players will be boosting their badges.

There are mixed views as to why this has occurred, players such as Empired believe that they may be trying to remove pets whereas Pigperson wasn’t surprised as the wow factor of pets has decreased.

I’ll probably purchase the more expensive pets, I would love another Dragon, Terrier and Turtle, maybe I’ll even purchase them for friends.
