Yesterday, as preparation for Valentine’s Day celebrations, Habbo announced that they had paired up with ‘ReachOut.com’.
This means that there will be a special area of ReachOut’s website that will be dedicated to Habbo. This area will be for people to ‘share ideas’ and ‘help people who may be going through a difficult time’.
After the Internet Safety Awareness Day was acknowledged by Habbo, and because Habbo often remind their users that Habbo is the only site that they can ensure your safety on to discourage external communication, is this new partnership corrupting these values?
As a incentive for people to join the ReachOut website, all Habbo’s that complete a survey will receive a special badge, but do you think this will persuade people to visit the site?
I will not be visiting the new site as I am not interested in the purpose that it is being used for. Also, the announcement of their partnership starts by saying you can find a valentine on it, and ends by saying you can help people in need, which I think are two completely different things. If they don’t know what the site is offering, I am not going to waste my time finding out!
So, you have heard my views about the ReachOut partnership, and I would love to hear yours! Click ‘Read More & Comment’ to leave them!
