Sometimes, we think about something in our heads, and we expect it to go well. Our imaginations can lead us in the wrong direction. The reality of the situation isn’t what we wanted, but it’s life. Some of you are probably wondering what “expectations vs reality” is, and so I’ll explain it to you.

Reality: How it turns out (it looks a mess)

Expectations VS Reality

Love

Expectation: It’s going to be a fairytale. You’ll live a life of romance, maybe have pleasurable nights. You will get married, have kids, and have good jobs. You’ll live in a lovely house with your own family.

Reality: You have the “honeymoon” period where everything’s all lovey-dovey, but then… it turns into a battlefield. There’s bills to pay. You have lots of arguments and fights and you end up crying your eyes out.

Your Job

Expectation: You’re a manager of a massive company.

Reality: You’re actually working in an office with a failing computer.

Makeup

Expectation: Your eyebrows are on fleek, with flawless foundation and red luscious lips.

Reality: You have very uneven eyebrows, caked foundation and crusty lips.

Your look’s amazing, like a goddess!

Reality:

Your look is a nooby mess! Colours are clashing!

Going to Prom

Expectation: Heading out in style with a limo. When you get to the prom, you’re turning heads with your amazing dress. Then you get announced as Prom Queen.

Reality: Going out in an old car. Wearing a basic dress that someone else is wearing. Unnoticed.

Dancing

Expectation: Dancing on point like Girls’ Generation!

Reality: Your dance moves are as stiff as wood!

Valentines Day

Expectation: You’re going out to the cinema, then having a lovely romantic dinner. After that, you’re getting lots of gifts and getting showered with affection and love.

Reality: You’re lonely with no one to hold. Raise your hand if you’ve not got a valentine this Valentine’s Day! *Raises hand*

Being in school

Expectation: You are the popular kid with everyone asking your opinions. There are lots of other students are falling for you.

Reality: Getting bullied or just not being popular. Being the nerd of the school.

Your first phone

Expectation: An iPhone X!

Reality: A cheap Nokia.

Singing

Expectation: “You sound like Ariana Grande!”

Reality: “You sound like a dying cat!”

Reality:

Dancing with noobs on the dance floor!
