Storm Clodagh greets the UK with 70mph winds!2
By - Posted 29th November, 2015 at 9:07 pm The Real World

If you’re living in the UK (or some parts of Ireland), you’ve probably fallen victim to the 70mph gusts of winds due to Storm Clodagh making its arrival from the Atlantic, according to the Met Office. The storm is supposed to be most severe in western coastal areas, while winds in inland parts of the United Kingdom still have the potential to reach up to 60mph, particularly up in the north of England.

Many towns across England have cancelled their Christmas lights switch-on events over the weekend, a massive shame for places like Portsmouth. Of course, weather warnings have swiftly been issued this evening across the whole of England and Wales, and some parts of Scotland (particularly the east!).

Unfortunately for Ireland, they are said to feel the ‘full brunt of the storm’, with the Met Office warning that there could be a risk of potential flooding; as heavy rain is anticipated to follow the storm. The Met Office warned about flooding;

“Although rainfall accumulations are not expected to be particularly large, rivers remain high from previous rainfall and are expected to respond, leading to the risk of flooding. The strongest winds are expected to reach Northern Ireland around dawn on Sunday, and most areas by the end of the morning, before gradually subsiding from the west during the afternoon and evening.”

Sorry for anyone who had plans this Sunday, but maybe you shoulder consider rescheduling. Let me know if you’ve seen/felt these winds down below in the comments!

That’s the weather, I’ve been 650c, and have a safe day!
