Barbadian superstar Rihanna could potentially be forced to cancel a string of concerts on the North American leg of her worldwide ‘Loud’ tour, due to low ticket sales.
Her tour managers are reportedly encouraging local radio stations to do free ticket giveaways to promote the gigs, though it could take a lot more to start selling out shows. For one venue with a capacity of 15,000, approximately only 3,700 have been snatched up. Yikes!
However, Rihanna’s European tour has already proved to be far more succesful, with the majority of the dates selling out extremely quickly. Some so fast that extra dates were added, for example she is scheduled to play an incredible nine shows at London’s massive O2 Arena later this year.
The lack of sales are surprising, considering Rihanna’s big successes with her album, especially with three massive singles of late, it’s hard to see why the fans haven’t been rushing to book their tickets!
