Former pop star Sinitta has been involved in a serious cancer scare, that was kept hidden from the public for months.

The ‘So Macho‘ singer revealed that a tumor had been discovered in her stomach, that was the size of an ostrich egg. That’s pretty darn big, in case you were wondering.

The 42 year old, who is a former girlfriend of Simon Cowell, had to undergo emergency surgery to have the tumor removed in fear of it being malignant, which it later turned out to not be. “I am recovering well,” she told the Daily Star newspaper. “Thank God the tumour was not malignant. But it was the size of an ostrich egg. Bizarre.”

She also stated that she was put on morphine for two weeks after the surgery, that she said was “very strong”. However it appears to be working, as yesterday she tweeted: “bit achey but bearable, going home today I hope!”.

Cowell has reportedly kept in touch with her throughout the whole panic, and has apparently been extremely supportive. The pair have kept a close friendship since their split, with Sinitta making many appearances on The X Factor alongside him during the judges houses stage of the competition.

What a shock that must have been! I hope Sinitta is recovering well, she seems to have been very brave through the whole situation.
