Space Flight have been announced in Scotland
According to Science minister David Willetts, Scotland could become a base for space tourism flights. Such flights could take off from RAF Lossiemouth if the proposals went ahead. ‘Space planes’, similar to ones developed in Oxfordshire could take off from any airport in the UK.
According to Mr Willets, the government is beginning the process to make Britain an effective competitor in the space scene. Space tourism flights could blast off from Scotland under Government plans to overhaul the space regulatory regime.
Virgin Galactic has already begun test flights on an aircraft which would rocket to an altitude of seventy miles at three thousand miles per hour. Over four hundred and ten people have already paid deposits of £20,000 to be on the flights which could take off from New Mexico within the next 2 years.
