Sulake CEO Resigns After 10 Years0
Sulake today announced that Timo Soininen, will step down as CEO to join the Board of Directors, and it is revealed that previous Disney vice President Paul LaFontaine will take his place.
Timo Soninen has been involved in eveolving and building up Sulake, and Habbo Hotel from a small home made business to a larger
and more global teen based social gaming company. Habbo was first released in 2000, and has expanded over the years to make a total of 11 “hotels” which have users from all around the world. As of February 2011 over 203 million avatars (Habbos) have been registered. There are an average 18 million unique visitors to Habbo Hotel monthly.

He also says; “Paul’s extensive and relevant experience in consumer Internet, media and social gaming is a perfect match for Sulake,” added Salmi. “His versatile international management experience will help Habbo continue to innovate a unique service dedicated to the global teen market.”.
Newly recruited CEO, Paul LaFontaine was previously responsible for publishing “Playdom” social games on global social networking websites, and for organizing cross company and external promotions. He has also previously held senior international leadership positions in Ticketmaster and eSolar. He quotes; “After 10 years of successful growth, Sulake is now well known for providing a popular, safe, social entertainment destination for teens,” said LaFontaine. “I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to continue this work with such a talented and creative group of people.”
