The Apple iPad 2 has finally been put on sale across the world and in the UK, two weeks after the device was first sold and released in the United States. The release of the device caused large queues across the country, in many major cities boasting an Apple Store. One of the biggest of these queues was at the country’s flagship store in Regent Street, Central London where over 350 people turned up eager to get their hands on the highly acclaimed gadget.
Apple staff were on hand to provide water and refreshments, to the queuing shoppers hours before the 5:30pm release. Among the most eager Apple fanatics was mad-camper Jewels Lewis who was stationed outside the store for nearly 33-hours. Also attending the launch, was an individual who claimed that he had missed out on purchasing an iPad 2 in New York.
The new iPad is 33 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter and so far has received nothing but good press from industry experts and consumers alike.
