As a part of this celebration, a television show will soon be released commemorating her 60 great years on the throne.
As part of the celebrations, the queen will have a royal horse show. Invited to attend and perform at this show include Susan Boyle (I dreamed a dream), Michael Buble and Katherine Jenkins.
HRH the Duchess of Cornwall recently launched a competition for children nationally to design a meal that will be served to HM The Queen during the celebrations. This has recently caused a stir with the anti-monarchy group ‘Republic’ who say that it is against the Education Act to teach children about the monarchy without teaching them about republicanism.
The government did not deny this with their response to this, but said that the act was never meant to prevent children from taking part in national events.
Other than the competition, the jubilee day should show to be something to remember, with street parties being held across Britain and a long weekend being arranged to comemorate the event, as well as the official symbol for the jubilee being designed by a child after Blue Peter launched a national competition early last year.
I think that the event will be fantastic! I am always interested in the royal family and in royal affairs and I thought that the Royal Wedding between HRH Prince William and HRH Kate Middleton was a amazing event. I know that the jubilee will add to the list of things that makes Britain great and will really ‘put us on the map’. This is needed in the current economic climate and I hope that the jubilee, apart from being a fantastic event, can also bring tourism amongst other things to Britain. I also think that, in regard to the cookery competition, anti-monarchy groups should let those who do enjoy the monarchy and are proud of it celebrate the event in peace and let them enjoy the event, rather than trying to find fault with anything that anyone does that they do not agree with. Wars are started by disagreements and people not respecting others views, that is why I think that we should allow them to practice their ways privately, if they allow us to do so.
So, you have heard my views of the monarchy and of HM The Queen’s Jubilee, but what do you think? Please leave your comments below
