The Social 5 – What on earth is this? Well, the social 5 is a brand new chart created by ‘Billboard’ which tracks the most discussed celebrities around the world this week. Whether it be newspapers, magazines, television or other types of media, we guarantee that they have all been searched through and that the most discussed artists have been chosen. Stories such as ‘Justin Bieber is a possible father?!’ or ‘Rebecca Black releases new single’ are likely to make the artist high up on this list.

Well, let’s not dawdle. Here are this weeks ‘Social 5’:

1. Justin Bieber – Of course this man would be making an appearance. With the release of his new single ‘Mistletoe’ and a duet with Mariah Carey, this lad was bound to show up on the Social 5. Also, with Justin Bieber being accused of making  a girl pregnant, he was bound to rocket up the list of ‘Social 5’ after hitting headlines with the ‘possible baby’ story!

2. Adele – Adele’s song ‘Someone like you’ is still on the Billboard 10! This is a very impressive feat and has managed to place her near the top of the list for quite a long time. She is also expected to gain the most Grammy’s this year, as she and Bruno Mars lead the list for Grammy nominations.

3. Lady GaGa – This mother monster is bound to be on the list. With the release of her new single ‘Marry the night’, she’s become mentioned quite often. Not only because of good praise of the song, but also due to criticism that the music video for the song is too explicit. Who knows whether it will be banned from TV or not…

4. Shakira – Congratulations to Shakira! She received a star on the ‘Hollywood walk of fame’ quite recently, and she is edging closer to 2nd place for most amount of views on 1 video – she’ll have to bypass Lady GaGa’s bad romance to do this.

5. Rihanna – Woo for RiRi! She has released a fabulous new single, which has gone straight to number 1 in many countries. However, there are concerns that her health is getting worse due to drinking and this has created world-wide interest.

That concludes the singles chart for this week, we hope you’ve heard a fair few of those albums and be sure to keep checking back weekly for the singles chart update!
