Many of you will have noticed, there are many rumours going around the hotel about a possible merge.
People have been discussing and getting ‘hyped up’ about a possible merge between Habbo.com and Habbo.es (That’s Habbo for Spanish users.) This has been spreading like a wildfire all over fansites, forums and the Habbo Client. The rumour first started when people noticed that Habbo had uploaded a new badge called ‘COM59’ (COM = Habbo.com) and a new advertisement. The advertisement and the badge are in Spanish (If someone tells you ‘Mexican’ – that’s incorrect, people from Mexico speak Spanish.)
To add to this rumour, people started realising there was a new poll in the ‘Habbo Research Lab’ and on the Habbo home page regarding countries. The questions were ‘What country are you from’ and ‘what is your native language’. So obviously after seeing all this information, people have jumped to the conclusion that Habbo.es and Habbo.com are merging.
Don’t get too hyped up though. ‘Yurre’ (The owner of the research lab) came online to ‘have a chat’ with Habbos and she notified people that ”Habbo.com will not be merging with Habbo.es – sorry for the confusion” and we think the poll has been removed from the room now. Also, in regards to the adverts in Spanish – people are mentioning that it is to celebrate an event called ‘Expo 15’. The badge will be part of a competition for English users.
There is still a lot of curiosity over this topic. Some feel that Habbo staff have only removed the poll to hide the fact that they might merge hotels in the future or that they are possibly hiding a bigger secret by removing the poll. However, most people seem to think that it was purely a coincidence.
