X Factor judges “shake-up” to affect the US!
X Factor judges are leaving and joining left, right and centre. With the departure of Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul from the US version of the talent show, 2 additional slots have become available! The 2 new judges would be judging alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. One person who desperately wishes to become a judge for US X Factor is Avril Lavigne. The Canadian singer-songwriter has been discussing with her management about the possibility of becoming a mentor on the 2nd series of US X Factor.
She has already been recommended by L.A. Reid who claimed her “showbiz experience and award-winning career” would qualify her for a role on the panel.
Meanwhile, rumours have arose that Beyoncé Knowles seems to be becoming a bit greedy after she supposedly demanded $50 million to join the US X Factor judges. She was apparently approached by Simon Cowell and if the offer is accepted, it would match the budget for the entire programme and it would also make her one of the highest paid TV personalities.
The British newspaper “The Mirror” was told that if her demands were met, she’d be an “incredible signing.”
However, Simon Cowell was quick to comment on these rumours and immediately shot them down. In an interview with “Extra”, he claimed that he had “no idea” where the rumours had come from and that he had read online that some sites claimed she demanded $100 million. He said he found it “utter nonsense.” It seems that Beyoncé may not be as greedy as people originally thought!
Finally, it has not yet been confirmed if Louis Walsh, Tulia Contostavlos and Gary Barlow will return as judges on the UK version of the X Factor. It could turn out to be a completely different judging panel this year for both countries it seems!
