Inactive? Banned. Deleted. Yikes!

Can you smell that?

Something smells strange.. and it’s not MrCroissant’s sandwich he left on his desk back in March..

It’s come to our attention that Habbo accounts are being banned if they have not been logged into for a long while.. is another purge on the horizon?

Read on to join the investigation.

Samanfa, a respected member of our Habbox community, recently attempted to log into an account she had made in 2011 – after the merge, and after the mass deletion of Habbo accounts that followed. Suddenly..

Sam was faced with a ban. Supposedly, bad behavior. Samanfa then discovered the URL of her ban unveiled the next chapter of our mystery..

“Banned due to inactivity pending deletion”

Samanfa took to the HabboxForums to share her story (seriously, sign up if you haven’t) and many Habbo detectives were immediately on the case. Our top investigator lawrawrrr has an excellent theory:

Although very boring, it could indeed be the reason for a possible deleting frenzy. We don’t know Sulake’s retention period for data, but it’s probably something between 7-10 years. And what better time to have a good clear out, just before the arrival of Habbo 2020? Right?

Thankfully, this story has a happy ending, and Samanfa was able to have the ban lifted.
