A "Habbo Messenger" could be on the way!0
Imagine sending someone an IM on Habbo, without being logged into the hotel?!
Wouldn’t it be fantastic to keep up with all your friends on Habbo whilst you’re on the go? It’d be even better if you didn’t have to log into the hotel or add them on a different service to chat with them. Well, (luckily) this could be what Sulake have in store for us Habbo users! Instead of introducing a full version of the Habbo client to all mobile devices, they are discussing plans to create a mobile version of the Habbo “messenger” for iPhones.
A full version of the Habbo client won’t be introduced to mobile phones because it would be incredibly difficult for a user to interact with items and move around the hotel due to the screen being far too small. So, to “remedy” this problem Sulake may be starting to develop an IM system which contains a user’s “Habbo friends” but does not require the user to be on the Habbo client. The idea was discussed on Habbo Hotel and also discussed in an interview with Heini Kaihu. She said “Wouldn’t it be fun if you could breed pets, or if groups could have proper group chats, or if you could have a mobile Habbo IM for chatting with friends even when you’re not online in the Hotel, or if you could design your own Furni, or… So many ideas!”.
Update: A Sulake staff member also posted a picture on Twitter of what the potential IM system could look like! It can be found here: http://www.habbox.com/assets/images/IbcaC.jpg
The idea has gone down quite well with users, here are a few comments they placed about the idea:
“That’s pretty interesting stuff, nice one. It’ll be nice to keep in touch with some people.” ~ Rhw
“…that sounds like a pretty neat idea. I would actually use it. What a cute idea.” ~ Memorilla
“Seems quite interesting, I never use the feature on Habbo so I probably wont get it.” ~ Zuth
“I might get it, and make more use of it if it was there… Not sure who I’d speak to on it though haha.” ~ e5.
This idea is only in the pipeline and has not yet been given the go ahead, so we may see this idea put into action in the future or it may simply be scrapped… who knows?!
