A Long Way Down4

Laughter, worry and realisation all in one movie; what could be better? After it being recommended, I had decided a few days ago to go ahead and try watching something of a new genre – originally thinking it would be extremely boring, long winded and a waste of time, I was pleasantly surprised. After I was given a brief summary, I didn’t really know what to expect – but then I watched it…

The narrative mostly involves dark elements like depression, illness and family issues. However, it’s nicely complimented and contrasted by the sweet friendship built upon the mutual perseverance of staying alive. The four main characters together created a pact to not kill themselves before Valentines Day and the film explores their heart wrenching journey to finding happiness before it’s too late for them all.

The breathtaking story really does make you understand the importance of friendships and reassurance from those around you; four people, one night, one mission – did they succeed? It showed their worries, emotions and thoughts to try and educate viewers on what some people go through on a daily basis; the stories included seem to be realistic as they are shown brilliantly through laughter, recognition and amusement.

I don’t like spoiling things but I would definitely encourage anyone interested to go ahead and watch the movie; it will give you a whole new view on life. If you’ve already watched the movie, what did you think of it? If not, does this article interest you in watching it?
