Badges are something that have always been present on Habbo. Badges range from the rare to the common, with most badges being attainable by the completion of quests or the gaining of achievements.

Most of the quests that give badges as prizes are quite time consuming, especially the ones that involve the playing of games. When these were first introduced, people were proud of their badges because the wearing of a certain badge showed that a lot of effort had been put into the obtaining of that badge.

This was until boosting rooms were released. The idea of boosting rooms was that you could simply place your habbo on a tile and it would automatically (using a variety of wired and other furniture) help you to boost certain skills for quests. These are now very popular rooms to be in, and they allow you to gain things on Habbo with very little work necessary.

A negative point about boosting is that it has significantly reduced the popularity of badges on Habbo. Badges used to be quite a rare thing to gain, and you were able to feel proud if you had a certain badge. This has now changed, with most people not being bothered about badges at all now.

When asked, LiquidLuck. said the following about boosting: ‘Its a great way of getting badges without any effort while you can be doing something else!’

Some people do not agree with this view, however, as they have worked quite hard for badges that are now not really focused on in Habbo.
