Club Penguin Island Review!3
By - Posted 5th April, 2017 at 5:28 pm Entertainment

Club Penguin has closed down but a new game has replaced it! On mobile, there is a new app! If you want to learn more and find out what my personal opinions are then read more!

Many players were left heartbroken when Club Penguin closed its servers; some people had played the game for many years! The new app is out: Club Penguin Island! I had to try out this new game to see how it was, to see if it lived up to its predecessor. Let’s hop into my review!

When I got onto this game, I had high hopes! I mean, for them to close Club Penguin down for this game must have meant that this game was better, right? Well, I’d say yes, but I’d also say no. Not everything about this game is terrible, just a bit of it is.

The Positives!

The graphics are okay if I’m being honest. They aren’t terrible for a kids’ game. The Unity Engine is probably why the graphics are okay, but at times the game can lag a bit, but I’d still class the graphics as a positive.

There’s a lot of customisation for the player, which is great! Many styles to choose from makes the game a lot more fun.

For the audience the game is aimed for, the story is good! The gameplay is very interactive which can help to stimulate your mind which is sometimes what we need. There are quests in the game which is awesome. Now we move onto…

The Negatives!

To even do anything other than the tutorial and waddling around watching members have fun, you need membership! You have to fork out your money to play this game, basically, which sucks! £3.99 per month for membership when you can’t play the game without it is ridiculous! It’s a shame that a potentially good game requires you to pay to play the rest of it.

The controls are more complicated, and although it can help with getting your brain going, it can get you frustrated! You have to use a trackpad to move around. You also have to use various other buttons to jump, swim faster and interact with Non-Playable Characters and objects around the island. It’s very hard to move around when the game lags!

Overall Opinion: I’d say Club Penguin Island was okay, although it was a slight disappointment! I wouldn’t pay for the membership and I don’t think it lived up to its predecessor. I’d rate this game a 2.5 stars out of 5!

Have you played this game? What do you think of it? Would you play it? Let me know in the comments section below!

Kind of stupid for the developers to do that…
I never played Club Penguin, but I’m pretty sure not having a membership doesn’t mean you can’t play the game. The creators are just greedy.
