Two murderers escaped a maximum-security prison in New York of the United States and could possibly be heading for Vermont! Authorities, Wednesday, said that there is no doubt that the men could kill again! The men used powertools to escape through a wall and crawl through a steel pipe and up through a hole in the ground, escaping Clinton Correctional Facility, late Friday.
Both states, Vermont and New York, are on high alert for Sweat, 34, and Matt, 48, searching farms and woods for these men. Not only are they searching to find them and report them, but a 100,000 (64,535 GBP) dollar reward is being offered for their return.
Earlier Wednesday, it was reported that a female prison work supervisor, Joyce Mitchell, may have assisted the two in their escape, giving them powertools to succeed. Sources also said that 51-year-old Mitchell was said to have a car sent to their escapee destination, but “had a panic attack” and admitted herself to the hospital, bailing out of the plan. On Tuesday, searchers walked shoulder-to-shoulder, wearing bulletproof vests and carrying sidearms as they walked through the woods, yelling “clear!” when there were no signs of the escapees. By early Tuesday evening, it appeared that the cleansweep of the cities had become empty, and New York State Police issued a statement saying that 400 police officers would go door to door, checking homes and camps.
They were discovered missing early Saturday after stuffing their beds with clothes to fool guards on their rounds and leaving behind a taunting note: “Have a nice day.”
