A new beta test of the Habbo Speedway has been released in the Finnish hotel.
As you can probably tell by the name, the Speedway will involve racing vehicles around a predetermined track. When Pixels were still in use, road items could be purchased by combining Pixels and Credits, and popular racing games (particularly Mario Kart) were improved in with these pieces.
However, with the removal of Pixels, these were a lesser-known symptom of the withdrawal. Many requested their return for Credits only in a special promotion; some went as far as to demand a permanent addition to the Shop.
Instead, Sulake have developed yet another minigame that is currently completing its first test run on one of the quieter hotels, Finland. By the looks of things (although the Finnish can be hard to decipher) the game is controlled by the arrow keys, much like other racing games for the PC. There are also 3 types of achievement present, following the trend of Fast Food and SnowStorm.
There is even a garage where you can upgrade the different parts of the vehicle. We aren’t sure exactly what this entails (unfortunately, we have no Finnish translators on call) but you can be sure it’ll be radical!
Some Habbox users had things to say on this possible new craze for the English hotel:
Kikali31 – “This seems so cool!“
Samanfa – “OMG I love it, I came second on my first go!“
Jarkie – “Looks quite horrid to me. I won’t be wasting my credits on this cheap Mario Kart knock-off.“
But what do you think? Are you waiting patiently for it to arrive on Habbo.com? Or are you so eager that you’ve signed up to the Finnish hotel to get a sneak peek? Or are you less enthusiastic for the feature? Tell us your thoughts below, but remember to be logged in!
