A recent development has been made in technology to help ensure that animal testing is as pleasant as possible for fish. It has been found that the same technology that has been used for humans to monitor and respond to changes in behavior can be developed to work for fish as well.
This technology works by monitoring normal human behavior and sending a alert to the necessary people if their behavior strays from it’s normal pattern. An example of this would be that if the person fell over, the emergency services would be alerted to see that the person is tended to. It is predicted that the same principle can be used to see if a fish is under too much strain.
Although this technology has been found, it is still a long way from becoming available for use. When it is available, it will also only be available for laboratory use initially, but this could open a whole new avenue of retail for animal welfare products.
