Have you ever seen those announcements on social media when there’s a big “birthday” for the release of an old show you used to watch or a band you listen to? The ones that make you think you’re really old and you just sit there thinking where the hell the time has gone? Last month it had been 10 years since the first Hannah Montana episode was released… what?! Anyway, here are a few things that were released 10 years ago to this month…
High School Musical
We’re soaring, flyiiiing. On the 23rd it’ll be the 10 years since the release of this film. I remember buying the soundtrack to this and listening to it on the school bus on my iPod and thinking that I was going to marry Zak Efron one day. I was a cool kid.
I Wish I Was A Punkrocker (Sandi Thom)
I’d be surprised if anyone’s not heard of this song. Okay, it was officially released in October 2005, but it was then re-released in May 2006… so it still counts, right?
Who Knew (P!nk)
This song was released May 18th, 2006. Who knew, amirite? No? Not even a smile? Wow, tough crowd.
The Da Vinci Code
I haven’t seen this film, but I remember when it first came out I said I really wanted to watch it. 10 years later and here I am…

There is a Mexican (or Spanish) soap opera (or series) called RBD (Rebelde, “Rebel”) starring singers and it was a huge success in Brazil in 2006. Every single kid in my school would sing their songs, act like them (“let’s play “Rebelde”. I’m ROBERTA (protagonist) and you’re MIA (supporting)”! – No! I’M ROBERTA, NOT YOU!” – “Okay so let’s be 2 ROBERTAS” “deal”, and it was pretty cool. Some faithful fans still like to hear their solo songs!
They’ve opened the Brazillian Habbo in 2006 as well!
