Goodbye-Matic!0

Well, that feature lasted a long time… 12 days to be precise, the Furni-Matic came to Habbo on 24th August and then left on 5th September, a short time but so many items were recycled in the duration, many badges given out and many prizes given. Why did it end so soon though? Apparently there were technical errors with the machine, such as the glitch that occurred when you could put one item in to receive a prize.

The campaign to save the game from the Black Hole didn’t last long, less than two weeks and players weren’t that impressed with the outcome or prizes for that matter. Some members of Habbox Forum expressed their opinions via a thread, they included:

‘Going already? Didn’t last very long, although the furni you got from it wasn’t all that special anyway.’ – Chris
‘I’m not too bothered. I agree that it being in the catalogue was so pointless.’ – Mat7
‘Didn’t enjoy it, glad to see the back of it.’ – Baloo

As you can see, the opinions weren’t really positive, I’m glad to see that it’s going to come back once it’s fixed though but I also feel that they need to work out the prizes and prices more. The SciFi range didn’t appeal that much and I only liked the Space Duck which I never received as a prize, not only that but you needed to recycle too many items for what was on offer.

The overall reason why this was released is interactive and fun but in reality, the ‘worst‘ prize you could get was a Holo Tree which looking at the SciFi section of the catalogue was the middle prices item for 6 credits with the Walkways being wanted more when they were cheaper! The release into the catalogue was a risky move and it didn’t pay off, the whole point of recycling your furni is that you get something back that can’t be bought anywhere else (other than trading rooms or the MarketPlace) this didn’t occur with the whole range being in the catalogue, meaning that when you recycled 8 or 12 items you would only get something back worth at most 8 credits – 12 items could easily accumulate to over that!

I’d prefer the old version of the Ecotron back, the other was cheaper, easier to use and with the competitions that came along with the Furni-Matic whereby you needed to recycle more furni than others would have been better if the 5 minutes wait after each recycle occurred, this would stop players recycling ridiculous amounts!

What were your views on the Furni-Matic? Did it leave too soon or not soon enough and did you recycle anything in the duration?

I would love to know your opinions, click ‘Read More and Comment!
