Gun Supplier Crackdown0

In society today, many people think that justice and the prevention of crime are some of the most important aspects of life. The only problem with this is that people mainly focus on the negativity in society. Good things that come from this focus include new laws being made and the judicial system being changed for the better.

One ‘loophole‘ that has recently been discovered in the legal system is the fact it is not a offense to supply firearms to other people. The only thing that was an offense in relation to providing firearms was that it was illegal to carry one without a license.

The Home Secretary, Theresa May, said that it was about time something like this was introduced, as the middle men supplying the weapons were essentially as guilty as those that used them. She then confirmed that a new law will be being introduced to make it illegal to rent weapons in this fashion, with the maximum penalty for this offense being life imprisonment.

I think that this change of law is necessary, and that it will help to ensure that less firearms are on our streets. At the moment firearms offenses can be very difficult to prove, and people can get away with things because of this difficulty. Firearms are a major part of serious organized and unorganized crime in modern society, and the majority of killings in the UK are linked to firearms.

I also asked Umbrella- what she thought about this change of law. She said: ‘I think it is a positive change that people are taking more action to combat gun crime in communities all over the globe. I do not see, however, how the introduction of new laws can help the economic situation of the United Kingdom. Police Officers are already loosing their jobs, and I cannot see how the introduction of more and more new laws can help the implementation of these laws.’

You’ve heard what we think, but what do you think?
