Recently, Habbo staff have increased the amount of minimails being sent out to habbos. There have been many different minimails that they have sent out; for example, one they have sent out where they requested that you take a poll about the Habbo Research Lab. In the past, staff haven’t often used minimails, but instead they used the Notifications on the Habbo ‘Me’ pages, but as these no longer exist, minimails seems to be the next logical answer.
Minimails are, basically, Habbo’s version of an Email. It is another way that friends can communicate when the recipient is offline then they will receive it when they next log on. They are widely used by some people, but to some, not as much. By changing the layout of the minimail box, Habbo staff have been trying to increase the accessibility of the facility.
There are many benefits towards staff using minimails, for example, with the new minimail system, it is easier for you to access them and it gives you a notice when you have received one, so people will pay more attention to them. As well as they will stand out more because of the badge that they use. This badge then makes it look important so people will be more willing to pay attention to it.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages. For example, some people decide not to read their minimails and so don’t notice when they get one from staff. This could lead to people missing out on vital information and put them at a disadvantage to everyone else for being heard. Habbo have tried to change this with the new minimail system, showing a red number by your portrait, indicating when you receive a minimail, but to some people with a lot, this may not make a difference.
Here’s what some people think about staff sending Minimails:
– AndyATW!Banned: In my opinion, it is quite pointless at the moment, but once they get it going a bit more and people know more about why they are sending them, then they should turn out ok.
– Descloizite: I don’t think the new minimails will make a difference. Mainly because, Habbo’s messages are really long and lets be honest, us teenagers can not be bothered to read all of the writing sent by Habbo just to find out that they want you to answer a poll. I think that if Habbo bombard us with these minimails, the majority of people will simply dismiss it.
