Recently, we have been seeing rumours going around Habbo of what actually happened in regards to the marketplace being wiped out and most of the hotel being trade locked. We heard of people placing items in the marketplace overpriced but now we have the real reason behind how they all got bought.

A credible source who wishes to remain anonymous has told us that someone took advantage of an old Habbo feature for developers, left over from the Sandbox (or test) Hotel, which means they were able to give themselves infinite coins. The as yet un-named user is suspected to have given himself twenty million coins and bought an enormous amount of rares available, especially through the marketplace. The users who had those items on the marketplace have been temporarily tradelocked to stop the further spread of these illegal coins!

The user who abused the feature has been permanently banned by Habbo Staff which means this should not happen again in the near future, or will it?…
