Rusted! AKA Shannon

Here is what Shannon had to share when we had our interview.

What made you decide to join Habbox?

As always, I join fansites spontaneously and on impulse. Habbox has been a site that I had previously visited briefly back in 2012 and did a cheeky stunt as a radio DJ, before moving on. I eventually found my way back to Habbox after getting incredibly drunk and having a random call with some old fansite friends during lockdown. It’s crazy to think that just over 8 years later I’ve found Habbox again and found a fansite where I finally belong.

What are your current role(s) at Habbox, and what is one of your memorable moments from working in one of those roles (or previous roles)?

I am currently the Radio Boss lady, this means that I ensure all of HabboxLive’s slots are fun filled for you to enjoy and lowkey annoy all of the DJ’s with discord pings!!! I’ve been the Radio Boss for just over a year now ( How crazy, it just seemed like yesterday that I was a newbie), I am so so proud of all of the radio staff old and new, everyone has had such a big impact on the radio revival. I can’t thank everyone enough! I have so many memorable moments, it’s super hard to name just one, so I’m going to list a few (I hope you have time Jamie!), Last Man Standing 2020/21 , Pride Prom 2020/21 , Eurovision 2020/21 , HabboxStarz 2020/21(Especially FJ’s entries).

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time at the weekend I can be found either at a pub, in a nightclub or in my bed!! During the week, you can find me working with young children in the community (girls aged 6-16). My roles in the community allow me to encourage young girls to dream big, and to pursue their passions. I really love making a difference and giving back to the community, it is super rewarding.

How do you handle criticism?

Ironically, I’m constantly criticising myself as I’m a natural perfectionist, I use my own personal criticism as drive to strive for the best both online and off. I want to become the best version of myself, so I use self criticism as motivation. If someone else criticises me, I can either take it and run with it or I get defensive, especially if its something I’m working on and have tried my best and pushed myself out of my comfort zone to achieve or do, it can actually become demotivating.

What movie can you watch over and over again?

I am such a hidden Sci-Fi Geek, so it has to be the the Star Wars movies. Oh, and the Harry Potter movies! Who doesn’t want to wave a wand and fly broomsticks!

If you had one day left to live on the Earth, what would you do?

I would try and do as much as possibly could during the day, seeing my friends and family, eat as much as I could, and spend the night dancing in a nightclub or pub till dark with some of my favourite people. Oh, and I would drink lots and lots of expensive champagne and prosecco.

What’s your current favourite song and why?

I am a hugeeeee music lover, but I am currently obsessed with Shane Cold – Get Out My Head. I noticed this bop back in early 2020(maybe even earlier) before it hit the mainstream and ironically it became a huge success! I have like musical sixth sense, it’s super weird that I become obsessed and then it blows up in the charts!

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I would like to see myself settled down with someone who I love and trust. I want to pass my course next year and qualify (in pharmacy) and actually start helping people, especially those that are really unwell. I did promise myself that when I do pass, I would buy a pug called Albert(pronounced all posh like al bear), so hopefully that happens.

What motivates you to work hard?

I’m forever working and motivated, I just want to do my best, especially within HabboxLive, I really want to do my best for the radio, in the hope that my work and ideas inspire people and encourages them to become the best DJ’s they can possibly be.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

I have so many! Why did you do this to me Jamie! My biggest accomplishment online is reviving Habboxlive, I’m so proud of everyone involved both past and present (and hopefully you in the future 😉 ) . Offline, it would be having goals and smashing them after having multiple set backs. It just proves that I can achieve anything if I put my mind to it!
