Actress Whoopi Goldberg, best known for starring in the 1990 hit movie Ghost and then many more hits since, has signed up for a new movie called The List.

The List is set to be about a woman who ends up getting released from prison and reuniting with her sister, who finds out she is in a online relationship with a man who may be ”catfishing” her. Whoopi will star in the movie alongside actress Taraji P. Henson and Tiffany Haddish.

There has been no news come to light about which character the 62-year-old will be starring as. However it has been revealed that the movie is a comedy and will also be directed by Tyler Perry.

Whoopi has had an amazing acting career. She first started acting in 1985 starring in The Color Purple starring as Celie Johnson, and ever since then she has been acting each year until 2012 where she took a break after appearing in the TV series 666 Park Avenue guest-starring as Maris Elder. Goldberg then returned to acting in 2014 to appear in the TV series Glee playing Carmen Tibideaux.

As for this year, the comedy is not the only movie that the actress has signed up for – she has also signed on for a short movie called Sensitive Men starring as a spiritual leader! However at this time Goldberg is currently filming the film Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin. The movie will be premiered next year and other members of the cast are Titanic actress Kate Winslet, Jennifer’s Body star Megan Fox, Juno actress Ellen Page,and Spider-Man actor James Franco.

Since beginning her acting career Whoopi has become a world wide movie favourite. She won an Oscar in 1991 for her role as psychic Oda Mae Brown in Ghost for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. This however was not the only award she won with this film! The actress also won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture as well as the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress. Her co-star Demi Moore, who starred as Molly Jenson, won an award for the movie too which was the Saturn Award for Best Actress. The film itself won 2 Oscars. Overall in her career she has won a total of 55 wins and 82 nominations!

Whoopi’s latest movie The List is set to air later this year in November.
