Yesterday Habbo released a new system of security for our accounts on Habbo. To put it simply, it restricts your account to 1 IP Address and this means that computers elsewhere can’t log into your account.
To apply this security measure, you only have to visit www.habbo.com/profile and the option is at the bottom. Once it is applied, only computers with the same IP address as yours will be able to log in (computers in your household basically). However if you do happen to be elsewhere you can access your account through a verification process. This consists of an email to your assigned email address with a link to unblock your account and from then after your account will be accessible from anywhere.
Personally I think this idea is a very easy one for us to implement and it does improve security. However most of the time hackers target our email addresses first to reset the password so this won’t make a difference if the lock can be unblocked with an email.
Amongst the HabboxForum users, the following views have been expressed:
“About time is all I can say. Sure it won’t fully stop hacking or w.e but this is a great move by Su-larkee () IMO.” ~ Intersocial
“Nice but of course a pin would be better? Could be a tedious process for me due to not using real emails for some too.” ~ Samanfa
But what do you think, is it a good idea? Have your say in the comments section!
