Actress Jennifer Lawrence, best known for starring as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise, has come forward and revealed that she has not had sex in a very long time – for a very good reason.

The 27-year-old Oscar winner spoke out and confessed that despite talking about enjoying it she is in fact acting. “I am all bark and no bite. I always talk like I want d**k, but the truth is when I look back at my sexual past it was always with boyfriends… I talk like I like it, but I don’t really do it. I am mostly also a germaphobe. I have made it this far without an STI. D**k is dangerous.” The actress carried on by saying, “if I was at the point where I could get an STI, doctors have already been involved. That is how much of a germaphobe I am.”

The Red Sparrow star spoke about the fact that living a single life is in fact very hard, and finding someone to have a good relationship with (with no sex) makes it a lot harder.  She has confirmed that when it comes to making contact with people like shaking their hands she’s very aware and makes sure she washes her hands first.

STIs are commonly known as Sexually Transmitted Infections (but also known as Sexually Transmitted Diseases [STDS] and are passed on through sexual contact, caused by bacteria, viruses, or parasites. A few different types of STDS/STIs include herpes, an infection that deeply affects your mouth and/or genitals. Statistics have shown there currently is no cure for it however the symptoms are definitely treatable. Another include Hepatitis B and Scabies. Hep B is one of the most commonly known infections and is a virus that is able to cause liver disease as well as spreading through when one makes contact with another person during sex or even another person’s personal items such as toothbrush or hairbrush. Scabies on the other hand are tiny parasites that are passed on through one-on-one contact through the skin – usually during sex, Like most of the diseases/infections it is able to be cured, they do however cause a lot of painful itching and when treated usually takes 1-2 weeks before the pain is gone and a full recovery is made.

They are also likely to be transferred during oral sex, the good news however is there is no harm getting tested. Better to be safe than sorry!

The actress has dated many actors in her past including Nicholas Hoult, Chris Martin, and Darren Aronofsky.  It is also known that Lawrence has made headlines recently about a trip she made to Cleveland and made a speech regarding politics to a class of high school students. She also took several photos with the students, which is something she rarely likes to do.
